The 90-day plan builds a company that can handle volume. The next twelve months turn that company into one people choose on purpose: better rated, less dependent on one scheme, and ready to grow beyond one city. This is also when the shift you have planned from the start begins, from taking every customer to serving the customers who pay for quality.
Plan for the scheme ending
MNRE's framework states that PM Surya Ghar "is to be implemented till FY 2026-27", which ends on 31 March 2027. It may be extended. It may not. A company that only works with a residential subsidy is betting everything on a government decision it cannot control.
Write two short plans. One assumes the scheme is extended. One assumes it ends on 31 March 2027. For the second plan, answer three questions: which customers still buy solar without the central subsidy, what your price per kW has to be, and how many jobs a month keep the team busy.
Climb to Tier II
Crossing 250 installations through the portal makes you eligible to apply for a Tier II rating. Tier II adds random site inspections and a techno-financial assessment. Chapters 5 and 7 prepare you for both. Apply when your checklists have been in daily use for months, not weeks, because the inspectors choose the sites, not you.
Win commercial rooftops
Shops, schools, clinics, hotels and small factories have high electricity bills and roofs that suit solar. The residential PM Surya Ghar subsidy does not apply to them, which is exactly why they matter: their demand does not depend on the scheme. Start with three jobs, learn what they need, and build from there.
Start the quality tier
This is where the shift to quality customers begins. Design one premium package, with the best components, a higher structure, monitoring, and yearly service visits included, and quote it on every job next to the standard option. Some customers will choose it. Those customers are the start of the company you set out to build.
Grow into the next district
Do not jump to the whole state at once. Your electricity company, PuVVNL, also serves the neighbouring districts of Kaushambi, Pratapgarh and Fatehpur, so the approval process your team already knows works there too. Choose one, win your first ten jobs there, and only then choose the next.
